AFTER · what the skill produced

Saturday install day
Vehicle: 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe, blue. Two people working.

Job 1: Baby shower
Brambrook Garden Room, 6705 Blackbrook St, Laurelbank
Contact: Valerie Kent, 206-555-0138
Job: organic garland over the dessert table, 2 columns

  • Load start: 8:50 AM (40 min to load)
  • Depart shop: 9:30 AM (25 min drive)
  • Arrive: 9:55 AM (20 min buffer before setup start)
  • Setup start: 10:15 AM (2 hrs 15 min of setup)
  • Setup finished: 12:30 PM (30 min before guests at 1:00 PM)

  • Event end: 3:00 PM

  • Strike finished: 3:30 PM (30 min strike, out by 3:45 PM)

Travel to Job 2

  • Leave the Garden Room: 3:30 PM
  • Drive: 20 min, arriving at the hall at 3:50 PM

Job 2: Retirement party

  • Load start: 2:40 PM (40 min to load)
  • Depart: 3:20 PM (20 min drive from the Garden Room)
  • Arrive: 3:40 PM (20 min buffer before setup start)

Flags

  • Job 2 arrival does not fit. To arrive at the hall by 3:40 PM, you would need to leave the Garden Room by 3:20 PM. Your shower strike finishes at 3:30 PM, so you would arrive at 3:50 PM, which is 10 min into your buffer. Setup could still start at 4:00 PM, but the full 20 min buffer is gone.
  • The Job 2 load start (2:40 PM) and depart (3:20 PM) are worked backward from the 3:40 PM arrival, but you are still striking at the Garden Room until 3:30 PM. The Job 2 items would need to be loaded in the morning, or you would need a stop at the shop between jobs. A shop stop would add drive time, and the shower strike would need to finish earlier to fit. Tell me which you want.
  • The hall's access time is not known, so 3:40 PM arrival is unconfirmed.

Questions for the owner

  • What time does Brookbrook Hall let you in?
  • Are you loading both jobs in the morning, or going back to the shop between jobs?
  • Do you want the Job 2 arch and centerpieces made ahead at the shop, and if so, how long does prep take?
  • Should I confirm the Garden Room's 3:45 PM out time and the hall's 11:00 PM out time with the venues before the day?

What it does

Turns the details of one or more balloon installs into a clear, minute-by-minute day plan. It works backward from each event start time to show when to load the vehicle, leave, arrive, set up, finish, and strike, so nothing is left to guess on the day.

Use it when: Use when a balloon decorator needs to build an install day timeline with setup, travel, and strike times from event details, such as "make a timeline for Saturday's install," "when do I need to leave," or "work out my load-in and strike times."
