Insurance Claim Explanation for Customers
Turns the shop's claim notes, the insurer's estimate, and any supplement into a clear message that tells the customer what the insurance is paying for, what they owe, what changed, and what happens next.
Before and after
Hi Cassandra,
Here is where your claim stands on the Charger. Your insurance company has approved the repair, and we are moving ahead with it.
The money
- Our original estimate: $3,180.00
- Approved by your insurance: $3,180.00
- Approved supplement for the bent rear body panel brace: $640.00
- Total approved by insurance: $3,820.00
- Your deductible: $500.00
- Insurance pays the shop: $3,320.00
You pay the $500.00 deductible to us when you pick up the car.
What changed (supplement)
After we took the bumper cover off, we found a bent brace behind it. It could not be seen until the cover was removed. Your insurance approved the extra $640.00 for it.
Not approved by insurance
We also found a crease in the trunk floor. We priced it at $410.00. Your insurance did not approve it, and the reason they gave was "pre-existing." Whether to have us repair it at your own cost is your decision. If you decline, we will note it as your decision. If you have questions about what your policy covers, please call your insurance company.
Our recommendations
Safety concern, recommended now
- Left rear tire has a bulge in the sidewall. We recommend replacing it. We do not have a price yet.
Also recommended
- Left rear tail lamp has a cracked housing. We recommend replacing it for $185.00. This is not part of your claim.
What happens next
Parts are in except the tail lamp. We expect the car to be done Friday the 14th if the bumper cover paint matches on the first try. Questions? Call us at 206-555-0152.

What it does
Turns the shop's claim notes, the insurer's estimate, and any supplement into a clear message that tells the customer what the insurance is paying for, what they owe, what changed, and what happens next.
Use it when: Use when a body shop needs to explain an insurance claim to a customer in plain English, such as: explain the claim to the customer, what does the insurance cover, why is the supplement needed, what is the deductible, or write up where their claim stands.
