Before and after
Stain plan for Yolanda Heath, 7371 Aspenhill St, Highdale
Carpet: nylon throughout (dining room, back bedroom, entry). Tools: truckmount, all purpose pre spray, tannin spotter, enzyme urine treatment, solvent spotter.
1. Red wine, dining room (fresh, dinner plate size, blotted last night)
- Likely type: tannin
- Method: spot treat, then hot water extraction with the truckmount
- Solution: tannin spotter
- Steps: blot up any remaining moisture without rubbing. Test the tannin spotter in a hidden spot for colorfastness. Apply per the label, let it dwell for the time on the bottle, blot, then extract with the truckmount. Check the spot when dry.
- Warnings: do not over-wet. Do not mix products. Follow the label for dilution.
- Expected result: because it is fresh and was blotted, we expect good improvement. We cannot promise it will fully lift. If a shadow remains, we recommend a second treatment and will tell Yolanda what we see.
2. Dog urine, back bedroom (old, about 2 feet across, odor)
- Likely type: protein, with possible pad contact
- Method: enzyme treatment, then extraction
- Solution: enzyme urine treatment
- Steps: test the enzyme product in a hidden spot. Apply per the label, making sure it reaches the full area the urine affected, which may be larger than the visible spot. Keep it damp for the dwell time on the label, then extract with the truckmount. Recheck for odor once dry.
- Warnings: old urine often goes into the pad. Follow the label for dilution and dwell. Do not mix with other products.
- Expected result: we expect the odor and stain to improve, but we cannot promise full removal on an old spot. Since we do not know what is under the carpet, we recommend checking the pad if the odor remains after treatment. Yolanda would decide whether to go ahead with that extra work, and her decision gets recorded on the work order.
3. Dark spot by the front door (fist size, grease or shoe oil)
- Likely type: oil-based
- Method: solvent spot treatment, then extraction
- Solution: solvent spotter
- Steps: test the solvent spotter in a hidden area. Apply a small amount to a white cloth and work from the outside of the spot inward, blotting. Follow with the all purpose pre spray and extract with the truckmount.
- Warnings: use sparingly and do not saturate the carpet. Follow the label. Do not mix products.
- Expected result: we expect good improvement. If the spot is dark from ground-in soil as well as oil, some discoloration may remain, and we will tell Yolanda.
Customer note for Yolanda
"Hi Yolanda, this is Canyonhill Carpet Care. We looked at your three spots and have a plan for each one. We start with the fresh wine stain since it has the best chance. We test every product in a hidden spot first. We cannot promise every stain will come out completely, but we recommend treating all three and we will tell you what we see after each one. For the old spot in the back bedroom where Pickle had an accident, we will let you know what we find and whether we recommend checking the pad."

- Is there anything under the bedroom carpet you can check (pad type, subfloor)?
