Hi, this is Marina Sawyer at Otterstead Corner Market, 2548 Maplestead St, Maplehaven. Our distributor sent a price notice, new costs start the first of next month. I want to keep 30 percent margin on everything. Here is what I have. Boomerang Orange Soda 12 pack cans: old case cost 6.00, new 6.60, 2 cases... no sorry, a case is the 12 pack, so 12 units. Shelf price is 0.75 a can. Hollowbrook Kettle Chips 2 oz: case of 24, old 18.00, new 19.20. Shelf 1.25. Fernwick Cold Brew 11 oz bottle: case of 12, old 21.00, new 23.40. Shelf 3.29. Dunmark Peanut Butter Crackers 6 pack: case of 40, old 14.00, new 14.00. Shelf 0.75. They said no change but putting it in anyway. Call me at 330-555-0154 if something looks off.

How the numbers were worked out

Boomerang Orange Soda: 6.60 divided by 12 = 0.55 per can. Old cost: 6.00 divided by 12 = 0.50 per can. Margin now: (0.75 minus 0.55) divided by 0.75 = 26.7%. To hold 30%: 0.55 divided by 0.70 = 0.7857, rounded up to 0.79.
Hollowbrook Kettle Chips: 19.20 divided by 24 = 0.80 per bag. Margin now: (1.25 minus 0.80) divided by 1.25 = 36.0%. Price needed for 30%: 0.80 divided by 0.70 = 1.1429, rounded up to 1.15. The current 1.25 already meets the target.
Fernwick Cold Brew: 23.40 divided by 12 = 1.95 per bottle. Margin now: (3.29 minus 1.95) divided by 3.29 = 40.7%. Price needed for 30%: 1.95 divided by 0.70 = 2.7857, rounded up to 2.79. The current 3.29 already meets the target.
