Before and after
Training Program for Fennimore
Prepared for Clara Cross by Christian Cook, Whitegate Dog Training
Overview
Fennimore is a bouncy 14-month-old goldendoodle with a lot of energy and a lot of heart. Over six weekly lessons, we will work on the four things you told us matter most. Each lesson builds on the one before it, and the homework in between is what makes it stick.
Your goals
- Stop pulling on walks
- Stop jumping on guests
- Come when called at the park
- Stop the barking at the doorbell
Equipment
- Front-clip harness, for walking without pulling
- 6 ft leash, for loose leash work
- 20 ft long line, for practicing coming when called safely
- Small, soft treats, for rewarding quickly
Lesson plan
All lessons are Tuesdays at 5:30 pm at Whitegate Dog Training, 6025 Snowgate St, Grovecroft.

Tracking
After each practice, jot down how many treats you used, what distractions were around, and how it went. Bring your notes to the next lesson.
Check with your vet
During our evaluation, we saw Fennimore sometimes favor his back left leg when he got excited. We are not able to say what causes that. We recommend having your veterinarian look at it, and sharing what they say with us so we can fit the lessons to him.

Questions for the owner
- What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy, if you want it in the program?
- When is payment due?
- Do you want to provide the treats, or should the client bring their own? (The notes list treats as client equipment, so this is written that way.)
What it does
Turns your evaluation notes, the owner's goals, and your lesson schedule into a clear written training program. The client gets a week-by-week plan with homework they can follow at home.
Use it when: Use when a dog trainer needs to turn evaluation notes, client goals, and a lesson schedule into a written training program the client can follow, such as: write up a training plan, build a program for this dog, or make the homework sheet for a new client.
