Driving Lesson Progress Update
Turns an instructor's quick lesson notes into a friendly, honest progress update for a student or a parent.
Before and after
Hello Allegra,
Here is how Alina's lesson went today. Alina and I spent an hour in the red 2009 Chrysler Pacifica, starting in the lot at 5607 Springcroft St in Heronbury and then driving on residential streets.
Went well
- Starts and stops are smooth now, much better than last lesson.
- Mirror checks were good.
Still needs practice
- Left turns: Alina swung wide twice. We will keep working on staying in her lane through the turn.
- Parallel parking: she hit the cone on 2 of 3 tries.
- Blind spot check before pulling out from the curb: she forgot this several times. This is a safety concern, and we recommend practicing it at the next lesson.
- Merging: we have not covered it yet.
Next lesson
Saturday. We recommend more parallel parking and left turns.
Alina has now completed 6 lessons. If you have any questions, please call us at 216-555-0176.

Questions for the owner
- What time is the Saturday lesson?
- Should the update mention when merging will be covered?
What it does
Turns an instructor's quick lesson notes into a friendly, honest progress update for a student or a parent. It says what was practiced, what went well, what needs more work, and what comes next.
Use it when: Use when a driving school needs to turn an instructor's lesson notes into a clear progress update for a student or a parent, such as: write up this lesson, send a progress update to the parent, how did the lesson go, or summarize where this student is at.
