Tour Script and Follow-Up Email for Prospective Families
Builds a walk-through script for a school tour, tailored to the family and the child's age, then writes a warm follow-up email to send after the visit.
Before and after
Tour Script: Karimi Family (Sofia, 2 yrs 10 mo)
Thursday, 9:30. Led by the owner.
Welcome (about 30 seconds)
"Welcome, Janelle and Jamal, and hi Sofia! Thank you for coming. We'll see the toddler room and the garden, then look into the Primary classroom through the window. Sofia, you can look around at your own pace. There's no rush."
Tip: Do not push Sofia to engage. Let her watch from beside her parents. Keep your voice soft.
Stop 1: Toddler room
What they will see: low shelves, child-sized tables and chairs, and children working on their own activities with Ms. Ruth and the other adult.
Talking points:
- "Everything is child-sized so Sofia can reach her own materials and do things herself."
- "In our classrooms, children choose their own work. We believe a toddler who picks her own activity stays with it longer."
- "We have two adults for ten children in this room. Ms. Ruth is AMI trained."
- Toilet learning: "Children don't need to be trained to start with us. We work with you on it, so Sofia hears the same approach in both places."
Ask the parents: "What does Sofia like to do at home on her own?"
If children are working: speak quietly and don't step in front of anyone's activity.
Stop 2: Water table and practical life area
What they will see: the water table, where children pour water.
Talking points:
- "These look like play, but in our classrooms they build hand strength and focus. We call it practical life."
- If Sofia goes to the water, step back and let her explore. Say, "She can stay as long as she likes."
Ask the parents: "Does Sofia like to help in the kitchen?"
Stop 3: Garden
What they will see: the garden, our outdoor space.
Talking points:
- "The garden is part of the classroom for us. Owner to fill in: how often the children go outside."
Ask the parents: "How much time does Sofia spend outside now?"
Stop 4: Primary classroom (through the window)
What they will see: the Primary classroom, looking in through the window.
Talking points:
- "This is the Primary room, for ages 3 to 6. Sofia is in the Toddler age range now, which is 18 months to 3 years."
- Do not talk about when or how children move between rooms. Owner to fill in if you want to cover it.
Ask the parents: "What would you like to know about the Primary classroom?"
Schedule and tuition (when asked)
- Half day: 8:30 to 12:30. Toddler tuition is $1,150 per month.
- Full day: 8:30 to 3:00. Toddler tuition is $1,650 per month.

- Full-day children have rest time from 12:30 to 2:30, on cots.
Likely questions
- "Do you have space this fall?" "We have two toddler spots for fall. I can't promise one, but I'd love for you to apply. The deadline to be considered for fall is March 15."

What it does
Builds a walk-through script for a school tour, tailored to the family and the child's age, then writes a warm follow-up email to send after the visit. It uses only the facts you give it about your school.
Use it when: Use when a Montessori school needs a tour script and a follow-up email for prospective families, such as "I have a tour Thursday," "write my tour talking points," "follow up with the family who visited," or "draft a thank-you email after a tour."
