Before and after
Fueling Your Strength: A Handout for Yara
From Zane Delaney, Harrowhollow Strength Studio
Yara, you're training three times a week to build strength and have more energy in the afternoons. What you eat and drink can support that, so here are a few small habits I recommend we work on together.
What you're already doing well
- You cook on Sundays, which gives us something to build on.
Habit goals
- Eat something within 2 hours of waking up.
- Drink 6 glasses of water a day.
- Do one home cooked lunch prep on Sunday that covers 3 days.
Food ideas
Based on what you told me you like, here are some easy starting points:
- Eggs in the morning, on their own or with fruit
- Yogurt with berries
- Rice bowls for your Sunday lunch prep
We'll skip cottage cheese and tuna since you don't enjoy them.
Eating out and busy days
Since lunch is often takeout from the place on Frosthollow St, the Sunday lunch prep is a good way to cover some of those days with food you cook yourself.
A note about your medication
You mentioned you take thyroid medication. Questions about how food or timing may relate to that are best answered by your doctor or a registered dietitian, so please check with them. I haven't included guidance on that here.
Scope note
This handout is general education from a personal trainer. It is not medical advice or an individual meal plan. For medical or specific diet questions, please see your doctor or a registered dietitian.
Check in
Bring this sheet to your next session and we'll talk about how the first week went.

What it does
Turns a trainer's notes about a client's goals, habits, and preferences into a friendly one to two page handout of general healthy eating guidance and habit goals. It stays within a trainer's scope of practice: general education and habit coaching, not diagnosing, treating, or prescribing meal plans for medical conditions.
Use it when: Use when a personal trainer needs a client nutrition guidance handout that stays within a trainer's scope of practice, such as: write a nutrition handout for my client, make a healthy eating sheet, give my client some food guidance, or turn my notes into a meal habits handout.
