AFTER · what the skill produced

Hi Nicole,

Thank you for having Olivefield Pest Control out to your home at 1647 Lynnfield St on 3/12. You called about ants in the kitchen and scratching in the attic at night. Our technician, Noel Ashby, found the cause of both. Here is what he saw.

What we found

Kitchen: carpenter ants. These are large black ants, about 1/2 inch long. Noel saw six along the sink base and the dishwasher side. Under the sink he found a pile of fine sawdust-like material along the back cabinet wall, and the wood at the lower corner sounds hollow. There is also a moisture stain on the cabinet floor, and he believes a supply line may be dripping slowly. Carpenter ants can damage wood, and the hollow sound and sawdust are signs of that here.

Attic: roof rats. Noel found about 30 droppings near the eave on the north side. They are spindle shaped and about 1/2 inch long. He also saw rub marks on a rafter and a gnawed wire where the insulation was chewed. He did not see bare copper. He found a gap at the roofline corner, about the size of a quarter, which is likely how they are getting in.

Our recommendations

Safety concern, recommended now

  • Gnawed wire in the attic. We recommend having an electrician look at it.

Recommended now

  • Carpenter ant treatment in the kitchen
  • Moisture repair under the sink by a plumber, since the stain and the likely slow drip are happening now next to the hollow wood and ant activity
  • Rodent trapping in the attic

Also recommended

  • Sealing the roofline gap to close the entry point

Checked, nothing found
The crawlspace and the garage.

If you would like to book, call us at 234-555-0136. We will go over the details with you when you call.

Questions for the owner

  • What are the prices for the ant treatment, rodent trapping, and sealing?
  • Is there a guarantee or follow-up visit to mention?
  • What is the first available date to offer Nicole?

What it does

Turns a technician's field notes about a pest into a clear, friendly explanation for the customer. It says what the pest is, where it was found, what it can mean for the home, and what the company recommends, using only what the technician recorded.

Use it when: Use when a pest control company needs to explain to a customer what pest a technician found, what it means for their home, and what the company recommends, such as "explain what we found," "write up the pest ID for the customer," or "tell them what kind of ants these are."
