Where Our Food Comes From
At The Copper Fork, we like knowing who grows and bakes what we serve. Here are some of the people behind your plate.
Osborne Family Farm. We have bought eggs and pork from the Osborne family since 2019. Their farm is about 20 minutes from our kitchen, and Moses drops off our order every Tuesday and Friday. You will taste their work in our Farmhouse Breakfast and our Pork Chop with Apples.
Sunny Row Gardens. From June to September, Nadia at Sunny Row Gardens supplies the tomatoes and basil for our Caprese Stack. When the season ends, so does the dish.
Tillman's Bakery. Our sourdough comes from Tillman's Bakery downtown, baked every morning for our toast.
From the coast. Our Grilled Salmon comes from a fisherman who works the coast.
Curious about what is fresh this week? Ask your server. We are happy to tell you.
Social posts
- Tuesday and Friday mean Moses from Osborne Family Farm pulls up with our eggs and pork. Try them in the Farmhouse Breakfast. Friendly faces, good food.
- Tomato season is here at The Copper Fork. Nadia at Sunny Row Gardens grows the tomatoes and basil for our Caprese Stack, June through September.
- Our sourdough starts at Tillman's Bakery downtown, fresh every morning. Ask for it on your toast.
- Same farm since 2019. Osborne Family Farm supplies the pork for our Pork Chop with Apples.
Check list
- "Pasture raised" was left out for Osborne Family Farm. You only have Moses's word. If you want to use it, ask him for something in writing first.
- The salmon supplier is not named, as you asked.
- Menu credits for the Caprese Stack should come off the menu in October.
- Please confirm locally any rules about the word "local" and origin wording on menus before printing.
What it does
Turns your rough notes about the farms and local suppliers you buy from into three things: short menu credits, a website "Where our food comes from" page, and a few short social posts. It only says what you can stand behind.
Use it when: Use when a restaurant owner wants to turn notes about their farms, ranches, bakers, fishers and other suppliers into a sourcing story for the menu, website or social posts, such as: "write up where our food comes from," "farm to table blurb," "tell our local sourcing story," or "add our suppliers to the menu."
