Unit Size Recommendation for a Storage Customer
Takes a customer's list of what they plan to store and the facility's own sizing guide, then writes a clear recommendation for which unit to rent, with the reasoning and a backup option.
Before and after
Hi Georgia,
Thanks for calling Oakdale Self Storage. Here is what we recommend for your move.
Recommended: 10x15 unit, $165 a month
That is 150 square feet. Our sizing guide matches a 10x15 to a two bedroom apartment, and that is what you are moving out of. Your list has a queen bed set, a sofa, a dresser, 2 bookcases, a dining table with 4 chairs, a 6 ft folding workbench, and 34 boxes (28 medium and 6 large). We recommend this size so you can fit everything and still walk in to reach your boxes. For 4 months, the rent comes to $660.
Backup option: 10x10 unit, $120 a month
This is our guide's size for a one bedroom or a few rooms. It would be tight for everything on your list, and we would not want you stacking so high you cannot reach things, so it is our second choice.

We also have a climate controlled 10x15 at $200 a month. For 4 months that is $800. If you want that extra care for the sewing machine, we can set you up in that unit. It is your call.
We do not have a 10x20 open right now, and we do not think you need one.
Give us a call at 234-555-0102 or stop by 6561 Marshdale Ave in Sandbury and we will get you set up.

Questions for the owner
- What move-in date should we offer Georgia?
- Are there any admin fees, deposits, or insurance requirements to mention?
- Is there a first month promotion for this unit?
What it does
Takes a customer's list of what they plan to store and the facility's own sizing guide, then writes a clear recommendation for which unit to rent, with the reasoning and a backup option. It works for a few boxes or a whole household.
Use it when: Use when a self storage facility needs to recommend a unit size to a customer from a list of what they are storing, such as "what size unit does this person need," "help me size this customer," or "they have a two bedroom apartment of stuff."
