Tattoo Aftercare Instructions
Turns the artist's notes about a finished tattoo into a clear, personal aftercare message the client can follow day by day.
Before and after
Hi Corinne,
Thank you for trusting us with your forearm piece today, the black and gray lettering and the small rose. Here is how we recommend you take care of it.
First day
- Your tattoo is covered with Saniderm. Leave it on for 3 days, until 3/17/2025.
- On 3/17/2025, we recommend you peel it off in the shower using warm water.
Daily care
- Wash the tattoo with fragrance free soap.
- Pat it dry with a paper towel.
- Put on a thin layer of Hustle Butter.
- Do this 2 times a day.
What to avoid
- No soaking, pools, hot tubs, or the ocean for 3 weeks.
- No direct sun for 3 weeks. Put sunscreen on after that.
- No gym for the first week.
- Do not pick or scratch it.
- Keep Pickle Bean from licking your tattoo, especially since your dog sleeps in your bed.
What to expect
We tell clients to expect the tattoo to be tender at first, then to peel and itch.

Questions for the owner
- The sunscreen note says "put sunscreen on after." Do you want to name a brand or SPF, or keep it general?
- Do you want to add what the client should do if the Saniderm leaks or lifts before day 3?
- Should the message say how long to keep using Hustle Butter after the first 3 weeks?
- Please confirm any health wording locally before sending.
What it does
Turns the artist's notes about a finished tattoo into a clear, personal aftercare message the client can follow day by day. It uses only the shop's own aftercare method and products, so the client gets the same advice the artist gave in person.
Use it when: Use when a tattoo shop needs to write aftercare instructions for a client after a tattoo, such as "write aftercare for this client," "send aftercare for today's piece," or "make an aftercare sheet for this tattoo."
