Progress Report Card From Several Sessions
Turns a tutor's notes from several sessions into a clear, honest progress report card for a parent or guardian.
Before and after
Hello Eleanor Brooks,
Here is the progress report for Eli Campbell in 7th grade math, with his tutor Esther Craig at Redwick Learning Center. This report covers September 9 through September 30.
Sessions covered: September 9, September 16, September 23, and September 30.
Strengths
- Eli adds and subtracts fractions with the same denominator without trouble.
- Multiplying fractions comes easily to him.
- Reading word problems out loud helps him, and he used that on September 30.
- He finished all 15 homework problems assigned on September 16.
Progress made
- Common denominators: On September 9 he got stuck finding them and scored 6 of 10 on the diagnostic sheet. After learning to use factor trees to find the least common multiple on September 16, he scored 8 of 10 on practice.
- Word problems: On September 9 he skipped 3 of them. By September 30 he scored 9 of 10 on a mixed set of fraction word problems.
Still working on
- Dividing fractions: Eli forgot to flip the second fraction on September 23, when he scored 7 of 10.
- Checking his work: He still rushes sometimes and skips checking his answers.
Goals
- Your goal was for Eli to be comfortable with fractions and ready for his October unit test. His scores moved from 6 of 10 to 9 of 10 across the four sessions, and we are continuing to build on that.
Attendance
- Eli arrived 15 minutes late on September 23.
Recommendations
- We recommend more practice on dividing fractions, including the flip step, so it becomes automatic.
- We recommend that Eli build a habit of checking each answer before moving on.
- We recommend continuing to read word problems out loud.
Next steps
- Our next session is October 7. If you have questions, call Redwick Learning Center at 402-555-0132.
Thank you for trusting us with Eli's math.

Questions for the owner
- What date is the October unit test, so we can plan the sessions before it?
- Do you want to include a fee or package details for upcoming sessions?
What it does
Turns a tutor's notes from several sessions into a clear, honest progress report card for a parent or guardian. It shows what the student worked on, what improved, what still needs work, and what the tutor recommends next.
Use it when: Use when a tutoring business needs to turn notes from several sessions into a progress report card for a parent or student, such as: write a progress report, summarize how this student is doing, or make a report card from my session notes.
